Nothing will get you thirstier than a bike ride on the trails through Yost and Olympic Parks. But even if your preference for treads is limited to car tires, you need nourishment. Here is our list of favorite happy hours in Edmonds, all with free parking:
DOWNTOWN EDMONDS
1. Las Brisas - Happy hour means the Las Brisas Margarita at $5 with the goat cheese and zucchini quesadilla for $7 between 3-6 p.m., seven days a week. Even better, Las Brisas' happy hour reappears on Fridays and Saturdays from 9-10 p.m.
2. Epulo - You can't go wrong with Epulo's pancetta, caramelized onion and arugula flat bread for $6 and their house red for $4. Happy hour runs from 4-6 p.m. and after 9 p.m. Closed Mondays. Open Tues. - Thursday from 4-11 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Sunday 4-10 p.m.
3. Rory's - Head to Rory's for weekday happy hour specials from 4-6 p.m. for $2 domestic draft beers, $3 craft draft beers, $3.50 well drinks, & half-off appetizers.
4. Giardi's - Grab the Goat Cheese Bruschetta for $3.50 from an extensive Happy Hour menu, with a $4 Malbec from 3-6 p.m. and then again from 8 to close, daily.
5. The Loft - $3 glasses of wine! And $4 for Mac & Cheese or $4.50 for craft drafts during happy hour from 3-6 p.m. and 9 to close seven days a week.
6. Milltown Lounge - From 4-6 p.m. enjoy $1 off wine and draft beers, with classic cocktails at $5. Try the Corpse Revivier, if you dare.
7. Engel's Pub - Want a dive bar with live music and an awesome tap beer selection, like Elysian Apocolyptic chocolate chili beer? Then head to Engel's where happy hour is 2-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday for $2.75 domestic beers and $3.75 well drinks. On Sunday from noon to 6 p.m., enjoy the same drink prices, but throw in $4 on tap micro brews. Live music some nights and stoolies (guys parked on stools) every day.
8. Taki Tiki - Head to the tackiest place on Main for $5 Mai Tais on Friday and Saturday nights from 11 to close, or from 9 to close Sunday through Thursday.
9. Daphne's - We're sneaking this in because we don't care if there's a happy hour at Daphne's because the place is adorable. Only two tables, so be prepared to party with new pals.
10. Jack Murphy's - Big on Irish ambience (whisky, anyone?) with no official happy hour, so be glad yer pound's in yer hand and the beer's on tap, laddy.
WATERFRONT
13. Anthony's - There aren't many Zagat-rated places in Edmonds, but this is a choice joint. Plus, you can slip your yawl into the moor and sip $3 draft beers and $5 Lemon Drops with a plate of $5 Ahi Nachos, every day from 3-6 p.m.
12. Arnie's - Cross the train tracks Sunday through Friday for Arnie's happy hour from 3-6 p.m., and Mondays from 3 p.m. to close with $2 off Margaritas and $1 off well drinks, house wine and draft beer. But the best deal is the $3.50 batch of green chili polenta fries. Happy hour folks are relegated to the lounge only.
11. Demetri's Woodstone Taverna - Sweet potato fries are $6 from 3-6 p.m. and 9 to close, also known as Happy Hour. You can also take a buck off your beer, wine or cocktail during those hours. You're paying for the view.
FIVE CORNERS
14. Bar Dojo - The chef came from Epulo and they have Asian-flavored cocktails, so enjoy Happy Hour from 4-6 p.m. every day, and then from 9-10 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday (why not on Friday?) Closed Mondays. Half-price wine on Tuesdays.
EDMONDS WAY
15. Five Bistro - $4 well drinks and $5 pizza (great price!) from 2-5 p.m. at Five Bistro on Edmonds Way near Pagliacci Pizza.
NEAR AURORA
16. Scott's Bar & Grill - while this is closer to Costco than the dock, your mouth will water over waffle-cut Gorgonzola fries with bacon at $6 and Scott’s Hot Apple Pie cocktail with hot apple cider, Tuaco and whipped cream for $7.75 from 3-6 p.m. and 10 p.m. to close.
Happy treading!
